Sports Desk: Bangladesh has given a target of 210 runs to England in the first ODI. The match starts at 12 noon on Wednesday (March 1) at Mirpur Sherebangla Stadium.
Batting first, Bangladesh lost their first wicket for 33 runs. Opener Liton Das departed after scoring 7 runs off 15 individual balls. He was caught on the leg before by English pacer Chris Woakes and got out.
The Tigers’ second wicket was then taken for 51 runs.Captain Tamim Iqbal’s stump was broken by Mark Wood. Then Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan returned to the pavilion after getting out one by one.
Nazmul Hossain Shanto scored the individual highest run in the Tigers’ innings. He scored 58 runs off 82 balls with six boundaries. Besides, Mahmudullah Riyad scored 31 runs, Tamim Iqbal scored 23 runs, and Mushfiqur Rahim scored 16 runs. None of the rest could touch the double-digit mark.
All six England bowlers got wickets. Jofra Archer, Mark Wood, Moeen Ali, and Adil Rashid got two wickets each. Chris Woakes and Will Jacks took one wicket each.
