According to the report, five employees of a local environmental consulting company called “CTEH,” along with the pilot, lost their lives when the plane crashed in Arkansas. The pilot was also an employee of that company. The accident happened soon after the plane took off.
The twin-engine plane crashed a few miles south of Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport, Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Lt. Cody Burke told the AP.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said the exact cause of the crash is still unknown. However, it was initially believed that the plane was hit by thunder and lightning. After the accident, the plane caught fire, according to the residents of the vicinity.
The plane was bound for Ohio. The agency also said it will investigate the accident with the National Transportation Safety Board.
