Sao Paulo state authorities said 566 people were displaced by floods and landslides. The search for the injured is underway. The coastal areas of this state received more than six hundred millimeters of rain.
Meanwhile, the connection with the areas isolated by natural disasters is being restored. Many tourists are stranded in the country while attending the Carnival festival in Brazil. Sao Paulo Governor Tarsigio G. Freitas will meet with officials from the central government on Monday to discuss the disaster situation.
The Brazilian President, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, said on social media that he will visit the most affected areas on Monday.
