Dhaka Bureau: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina feels that emphasis should be placed on domestic production rather than depending on foreign countries. The Prime Minister said this on Tuesday (February 14) at the National Textile Day 2022 and the inauguration of six development projects carried out by the Ministry of Textiles and Jute. He joined through videoconferencing from Ganabhaban.

The Prime Minister said that we are ahead of those who come from different countries to inquire about the condition of our workers and industries. He said we have managed to make the industry environmentally friendly. In particular, we have been able to build green factories in the garment sector. Now 187 green factories have been certified in Bangladesh. We focus on increasing productivity.

The Prime Minister said we pay special attention to producing in our own country without depending on foreign countries.

He said, “Now is the time of the fourth industrial revolution.” Most digital devices will be used here. We are making our employees efficient by training them. I have provided training opportunities for both new and experienced employees.

The Prime Minister also said that we could not give as many incentives to the garment industry, despite the fact that jute is an agricultural product. Jute is eco-friendly. The more it excels, the more it will work. Marketing will be easy.

The Minister of Textiles and Jute, Golam Dastgir Gazi Bir Prateek, presided over the function organized at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre. Minister of State for Labor Munnujan Sufian, Textile and Jute Secretary Abdur Rauf, and others were present.
