Emirates announced $1.36 million in aid to Syria

International Desk: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has pledged humanitarian aid worth about 13.6 million US dollars to earthquake-ravaged Syria. This information was reported by Gulf News, citing the state media of the United Arab Emirates.
 
According to the report, yesterday at 4:17 a.m. local time, a strong earthquake occurred near the city of Gaziantep in Turkey on the Syrian border. More than 4,300 people were killed in this earthquake of 7.8 magnitude in two countries.
 
According to the latest data, the death toll in Turkey is 2,921. 15 thousand 834 people were injured.In Syria, 1 000 444 people were killed.3000 411 people were injured.The earthquake collapsed thousands of houses in both countries, including many high-rise buildings.

Efforts are under way to rescue people trapped under the rubble. It is feared that the number of dead in the rescue operation may increase. Various countries and organizations have announced assistance to Turkey and Syria after yesterday’s earthquake. Some have already started aid operations in Turkey.
 
The UAE’s state news agency, WAM, reported that the country’s Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ordered emergency humanitarian aid for the affected people in Syria yesterday.

The UAE has already sent a plane to Adana Airport in the south of the country as part of its aid to Turkey. The aircraft carries a search and rescue team and medical equipment.
 
The United Arab Emirates has said it plans to establish a field hospital in Turkey. They will also send search and rescue teams to Syria. They will send emergency relief and assistance to the country. Yesterday, the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, called the leaders of Syria and Turkey. He mourned.

Al-Nahyan emphasized the UAE’s support for Syria and Turkey in this dire humanitarian crisis, UAE state news agency WAM reported. He offered any assistance to Syria and Turkey’s efforts to mitigate the effects of the earthquake.
 
The UAE reopened its embassy in the Syrian capital in December 2018. In March last year, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad visited the United Arab Emirates. It was his first visit to an Arab country amid Syria’s decade-long civil war.
