He said this at the inauguration ceremony of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority’s (BIDA) own head office at Agargaon in the capital on Sunday (February 5).

We have created 100 economic zones. We want foreign investment, but at the same time we want the youth of our country to be investors themselves.
He also said that in 2001, I left 4300 MW of electricity, and in 2009, I saw that it had been reduced to 3000 MW. I don’t know if any country goes backwards or not. We are now able to provide 100% of the country with electricity.Our goal was to deliver electricity to every home in Bangladesh, and we have delivered.
Pointing out that the country was lagging behind in food production at that time along with electricity, the Prime Minister said that when I came to power in 1996, there was a shortage of 4 million metric tons of food. We produced food and achieved self-sufficiency when we left power in 2001, leaving a food surplus of 2.6 lakh metric tons. Come back in 2009 and see again that we are a country of food shortages.
