Dhaka Bureau: At the consumer level, the price of a 12 kg liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder has increased by Tk 266. According to the new rate, the price of a 12-kg LPG cylinder at the consumer level will be Tk 1,498. which is 1 thousand 232 taka so far.
Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) announced the price in a press release on Thursday (February 2).
According to the notification, the consumer price of private LPG supplied in liquid state in a reticulated system, including musak, has been adjusted to 121.62 taka per kg, or the price of private LPG supplied in gaseous state in a reticulated system has been adjusted to 0.2703 taka per liter, including musak. At the consumer level, the price of autogas, including value-added tax (Musak), has been adjusted to Tk 69.71 per liter. The revised rates will be applicable and effective as of 6 p.m. on February 2 and will remain in force until further orders.
Earlier in January, the price of a 12 kg LPG cylinder was reduced by 65 taka to 1 thousand 232 taka by the Energy Regulatory Commission. The price in December was 1 thousand 297 taka.In the previous month (November), BERC had increased the price of a 12 kg LPG cylinder by Tk 51, from Tk 1,200 to Tk 1,251. Furthermore, the price of a 12 kg LPG cylinder was fixed at Tk 1,219 at the beginning of August last year.In that month, the price of a 12-kg cylinder decreased by Tk 35.
However, in July 2022, BERC fixed the price of a 12-kg LPG cylinder at Tk 1254. which was 1 thousand 242 taka in June. Before that, the price of 12 kg of LPG was Tk 1,335 in May.
