Economy Desk: Exports increased in the first month of the new year compared to January last year. The Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) released this information on Thursday.
It is known that 514 million dollars’ worth of products have been exported. This amount is about 6 percent more than the same month last year. Exports increased to $29 million.As the exchange rate for 1 dollar is 107 taka, the export has increased to 3 thousand 100 crore taka. In January of last year, exports totaled $4.85 billion dollars.
On the other hand, in the current fiscal year 2022–23, the total exports have increased by about 10 percent in the last seven months from July to January. A total of 3 billion 245 million dollars’ worth of products were exported during this time. This revenue is slightly higher than the target set by the government for the last seven months.
