International Desk: In 23 days of this year, there have been 36 gun attacks in the United States. 59 people were killed. Many were injured. This information was reported by the US Gun Violence Archive on the eve of the shooting death of 10 people by an old man in California.
Citing the United States’ Gun Violence Archive, the Indian media Weon News reported that there were 691 gun attacks in the United States in 2021. It killed at least 706 people. 115 people were injured. In 2022, there were 648 gun attacks. 673 people were killed and hundreds were injured in these attacks. On May 14 last year, at least 10 people were killed in a horrific attack on a supermarket in Buffalo, New York. The same month another major attack occurred at a school in Yuvalde, Texas. 22 people lost their lives. 59 people lost their lives in 36 attacks from the beginning of this year till yesterday Monday. Efforts have been made to reform gun control laws to stop gun violence, but it is not having any effect in the country. Incidentally, even though Joe Biden took many steps to reduce gun violence after coming to power, gun violence is increasing at an alarming rate in the country. The United States has become a nation of gun violence. Every day there are reports of attacks somewhere in the country.
The gunman involved in a shooting at a dance studio in California has been killed, the BBC reports. The attacker is a 72-year-old Asian man named Hu Canon Tran. Police said the attacker shot himself inside a white van. Earlier on Sunday, the police surrounded the van. It has been reported that there are no more suspects in this incident. Police believe the white van used stolen number plates. Detectives are yet to establish a motive for the attack. They are looking into Tran’s mental state and previous criminal history. It is not yet known how many guns were used in the attack.
