Bhola Correspondent: Gas has been found in a well owned by state company Bapex in Dwip district Bhola. Before this well named North-2, gas was found in Bhola North-1 well in 2018.

It is known that the Russian state company Gazprom is drilling the Vola North-2 well under the supervision of BAPEX. Well drilling work started here last December. Petrobangla expects to be able to extract 2 crore cubic feet of gas per day from the well.

Meanwhile, gas is not being extracted from the Bhola North gas field despite the infrastructure in place due to lack of demand. However, during the energy crisis, the energy department is working on a plan to supply this gas in the form of CNG to other parts of the country including Dhaka.
