Sports Desk: Bangladesh has won the U-19 Women’s World Cup for the third time in a row. Bangladesh beat the United States by five wickets and entered the Super Six by becoming the group champion. Bangladesh reached the target by losing 5 wickets in 17.3 overs in response to 104 runs given by USA.
On Wednesday (January 18) after losing the toss, Bangladesh restricted the United States to 103 runs due to the skill of the bowlers. Lasia Mullapudi returned to the pavilion with a personal 5 runs after being victimized by Disha Biswas in the fourth over. Then Disha Dhingra and Snigdha Paul Dhirgati made a partnership of 57 runs.
The duo lost wickets in two consecutive balls in the 15th over. Disha got out after scoring 20 runs on Swarna Akter’s throw. Snigdha Paul returned to the pavilion with a personal 26 runs in the next ball.
After that, the USA scored a hundred in the pair of Geetika Kodali and Isani Vaghela. Skipper Geetika was victimized by Marufa Akhtar for 16 runs in the last ball. Isani was unbeaten on 17 runs. Disha Biswas took maximum 2 wickets for Bangladesh.
