International desk: President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky visited the United States amid the Russia-Ukraine war. During the visit, he met US President Joe Biden. He addressed the US Congress.
Biden and Zelensky held a joint press conference after the meeting on Wednesday (December 21) local time.
During the press conference, Biden said that Zelensky will be given military support as long as necessary in the war with Russia. The US will stand by Ukraine.
“You are not alone,” Biden told Zelensky. We are not at all concerned about holding the international alliance together. He also confirmed a new $2 billion aid package for Ukraine. At the same time promised another 45 billion dollars.
Criticizing Putin, the US President said that Russian President Vladimir Putin has no intention of stopping this cruel war. Meanwhile, Zelensky expressed gratitude for Washington’s support.
After the meeting at the White House, the 44-year-old Ukrainian president addressed a joint session of Congress. He was given a standing ovation in the session.
