Iran has summoned UK and German ambassadors again

International Desk: Iran has again summoned UK and German ambassadors to Tehran. This information was given in a report of the Guardian. According to the report, Tehran summoned British Ambassador Simon Shercliffe last Saturday (December 10) regarding the ongoing protests in Iran. In this regard, Iran has summoned foreign ambassadors 15 times in less than three months.

According to the country’s state news agency IRNA, Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned German Ambassador Hans-Udo Muzel in Tehran last Friday (December 9) on the same issue. Almost all of the ambassadors Tehran has summoned in the past 10 weeks are from Western countries.

According to IRNA, in view of the unprecedented pressure on Iran, Tehran responded diplomatically by summoning the foreign ambassador assigned to the country.

Iranian policy police arrested a Kurdish girl Mahsha Amini (22) in the Iranian capital Tehran on September 13 for not wearing a hijab according to strict rules. He died in police custody on September 16 after his arrest.

Iranian people took to the streets claiming that Mahsha died under torture. The protests that started around Mahsha’s death spread across Iran. The UK ambassador to Tehran has been summoned five times since the protests began in Iran.

Tehran has been calling the ongoing protests a ‘riot’. They said that foreign enemies are encouraging this protest.

Human rights activists said that more than three hundred protesters were killed by security forces in Iran. Thousands of people were arrested. Besides, some people have been sentenced to death for their involvement in the protests. One person has already been executed.
