International Desk: Israeli forces are continuing their relentless attacks on Gaza, controlled by the Palestinian independence militant group Hamas. The country has intensified its campaign in Gaza since last Friday. However, after almost two weeks, Israel has allowed the delivery of aid to Gaza under international pressure. Even then, UN humanitarian chief Tom Fletcher gave horrific information.
He said that five trucks of aid reached Gaza on Monday. However, he referred to this as a drop in the ocean.
Tom Fletcher said that although the aid trucks have crossed Gaza, they are still on one side of the border and have not yet reached the Palestinians.
The official said that these aid trucks contain food and nutrition for children. He expressed his fear that if the aid supplies do not reach them (the Palestinians), 14,000 children may die in the next 48 hours.
Asked how he determined this number, Fletcher said, “We have a strong team on the ground in Gaza.”
