International Desk: At least 100 people were killed when two car bombs exploded outside the Ministry of Education in Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu. 300 people were injured in this incident.
On Sunday (October 30), the President of the country, Hassan Sheikh Mohammed, gave this information in a statement. News Reuters.
Sheikh Mohammad blamed the militant organization ‘Al Shabaab’ for the incident. However, no one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
After visiting the scene, the President said that among those who have been victims of genocide, there are mothers and children. Fathers, even students and businessmen have been killed. The death toll may rise.
Reuters reports that the first blast occurred at a busy intersection near the Ministry of Education in Mogadishu. The second explosion occurred when people gathered to help the victims with an ambulance.
Somali police spokesman Sadiq Dudishe said two explosions targeted civilians, including children, women and the elderly.
Note that in 2017, more than 500 people were killed in the biggest bomb attack in the history of Somalia at the same place. At that time a truck bomb exploded.
