The Crime Desk: The inauguration ceremony of the newly elected US President Donald Trump is going to be held on January 20. Trump has invited Chinese President Xi Jinping to attend the ceremony.

However, it has not been made clear whether the invitation has been accepted by China. When asked about this, the Chinese Embassy in Washington refused to comment.

Last month, Trump said that he would take action against China on his first day as president. On November 25, Trump said that the Chinese government will impose an additional 10 percent tariff on China until it stops smuggling the synthetic opioid fentanyl.

In another post, Trump attacked China in harsh language, saying, “Chinese representatives told me that they would execute those involved in fentanyl smuggling, but unfortunately they never did, and our country is filled with this drug.”

Earlier during the election campaign, Trump promised to impose tariffs of 60 percent or more on Chinese imports.

On the other hand, China has also stated that neither the United States nor China will win if a new trade war starts.
