After the fall of Assad, Israeli forces took over a buffer zone in the Syrian-controlled Golan Heights. Then, new reports came that the taking over of more territory in Syria continues.
Al Jazeera reported yesterday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered his forces to seize a buffer zone in the Golan Heights.
He said that in 1974, an agreement was made between Syria and Israel to establish a control line. However, after the fall of Assad, it collapsed and the Syrian army left it. Therefore, it was necessary for Israel to seize it.
Netanyahu said, “We will not allow any enemy force to be established on our border.”
