Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: Army officer Lt. Tanzim Charwar was killed in an attack by terrorists during an operation by joint forces in Dulhazara, Chakriar, Cox’s Bazar. He was a member of 39 ST Battalion and officer number BA-11453 of the 82nd Long Course.
A team of Joint Forces (39 ST Bn) conducted an operation against the terrorists based on a tip-off around midnight on Tuesday. When the terrorists sensed the presence of the forces and tried to disperse, Lt. Tanjim challenged the two terrorists.
At that time, the terrorists shot at him and stabbed him in the neck. He was seriously injured. He was later rushed to Chakaria Christian Hospital and shifted to Ramu CMH. The doctor on duty declared him dead at 5:40 am.
According to the doctors, five stab wounds were found on the body of Lt. Tanjim. Deceased Tanjim Charwar’s secluded house is in Betka village of Mir in Tangail district.
Officer-in-charge (OC) Manzoor Quader Bhuiyan of Chakaria police station confirmed the matter and said that army officer Lt. Tanjim Charwar was killed by terrorists.
