Fire in the egg market; no one obeys the instructions

The Crime Desk: Eggs are being sold at a much higher price than the price set by the government in the market of the capital. In the market, eggs are being sold at Tk 165 per dozen, which is Tk 23 more than the price set by the government.

Eggs and chickens were sold at higher prices in some areas, including Karwan Bazar, Mirpur, Hatirpool, Dhanmondi, and Mohammadpur of the capital, on Sunday. But the prices of vegetables are the same as last week.

It has been seen in the raw market that Patol is being sold at Tk 30 per kg. Besides, bitter gourd is being sold at 50 taka, kachu 50 taka, sim 200 taka, and chichinga 50 taka per kg. Gourds are being sold at Tk 60 per piece. Potatoes are sold at Tk 55 per kg, garlic at Tk 200, onion at Tk 110, and ginger at Tk 240. Dry chillies are being sold at Tk 380, turmeric at Tk 340, and cumin at Tk 800 per kg.

Broiler chickens are being sold at Tk 175 per kg, which is Tk 5 less than the fixed price. Besides, it is being sold for 170 taka somewhere in the neighborhood.

The government has recently fixed 168 91 paise at producer level, 172 61 paise at wholesale level, and 179 59 paise at retail level of broiler chicken.

Besides, golden chicken is being sold at 300 taka. Beef is being sold at Tk 750 to Tk 800 per kg. Goat meat is being sold at Tk 1050 to Tk 1100 and goat meat at Tk 1000.

On the other hand, retailers are selling Hilsa for 1650 to 1700 Tk per kg, or 100-200 grams of Hilsa.
