International Desk: US President Joe Biden and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke on the phone on various regional and global issues. India’s Ministry of External Affairs said that the Bangladesh issue came up in the phone conversation between the two heads of state.
The two leaders in the discussion emphasized the need to improve the law and order situation in Bangladesh and ensure the safety and security of minorities, especially Hindus.
On Monday (August 26), India’s Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement that the two leaders had a detailed exchange of views on several regional and global issues. Modi’s recent visit to Ukraine, Quad, and Bangladesh issues also come up in this.
Apart from the Ministry of External Affairs, Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself has confirmed the phone conversation with US President Joe Biden.
Highlighting the issue of the phone conversation with Joe Biden on his X handle on Monday night, Narendra Modi wrote, “He had a phone conversation with US President Biden today. At this time, we exchanged views in detail on various regional and global issues, including the situation in Ukraine.
The Prime Minister of India also wrote, ‘We also discussed the situation in Bangladesh and emphasized the need to restore normalcy in the country as soon as possible. Besides, there was a discussion about ensuring the security of the minorities of Bangladesh, especially the Hindus.
