International Desk: US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has approved the sale of possible anti-submarine weapon Snowboys and related equipment to India. The estimated price of these weapons is 52.8 million US dollars. This information has been reported in a report of Indian news agency ANI on Saturday (August 24).
The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency has notified Congress of the potential sale of these weapons and provided the necessary certification.
According to the statement, the Government of India has requested procurement of various equipment, including AN/SSQ High Altitude Anti-Submarine Warfare (HAASW) Sunobuoys and AN/SSQ-62F HAASW Sunobuoys. The estimated price of these weapons is 52.8 million dollars. After that, the US Secretary of State approved the sale of these weapons.
The statement added that the proposed arms sale would support US foreign policy and national security objectives by helping strengthen the US-India strategic relationship. It will also enhance the security of our major defense partner.
