International Desk: Donald Trump, the presidential candidate of the Republican Party in the US state of Pennsylvania, was attacked during the election campaign. One person told the BBC that he was outside the rally and could only hear what Trump was saying. Just then, a person on the roof came to his attention.
One person was crawling on the roof of a building near the rally, the man told the BBC. The eyewitness claimed that he also saw a rifle in the hands of the man on the roof. But before the incident alerted the security forces, the assailants started firing at Trump.
The witness told the BBC, “We saw the man (the attacker) crawling… on the roof of a building near us.” He claimed to have seen the scene five to seven minutes after Trump began the speech.
He also said, I was wondering why Trump is still giving speeches. Why is he not being taken off the stage? I was standing and looking at him. Then I heard five shots.
However, it was not possible to impartially verify the statements of the witnesses on behalf of the BBC.
