Bhole Baba is a resident of Bahadur village in Patiali Panchayat of Uttar Pradesh’s Eta district. He claimed that at one time he worked in the intelligence department. He left that job 26 years ago to spread religious messages. Now this self-proclaimed religious guru has numerous devotees spread all over India, including Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, and Delhi. Bhole Baba does not have any social media accounts. Her fans claim that her inspiration works at different levels in society.
In Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, religious programs are organized in the name of Bhol Baba every Tuesday. Thousands of devotees gathered there. Devotees are also provided with food and drinking water. Volunteers are in charge. Even when gatherings were banned during the epidemic, hundreds of people used to gather at Bhole Baba’s functions. There was controversy about that. About 116 people died in the stampede of Bhole Baba Satsang in the Sikandrarau area of Hathor on Tuesday. This is what the local administration said.
According to local sources, the Satsang was organized from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. by the ‘Manav Mangal Milan Sadbhavana Pranaman Committee’ for a self-proclaimed religious guru named Narayan Sakar, alias ‘Bhole Baba’. Thousands of fans participated. Most of the devotees were women. A mishap occurs while rushing out. The finger has been pointed at the organizing committee of Satsang in this incident.
A section of eyewitnesses claimed that the pandal that was set up for Satsang was barricaded. A fan is not provided. Even though the pandal was open, everyone was panting due to the humidity and heat. As a result, people rush out of the field after the satsang is over. But the gate, which was made for coming and going, was also very narrow, causing chaos. Many fell to the ground. The rest try to get out of them. Hundreds of fans died because of it.
