Dhaka Bureau: Finance Minister Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali will present the proposed budget for the fiscal year 2024–25 for the fourth consecutive term of the Awami League government. This is the 53rd budget for Bangladesh. And this is the first budget of the current government formed for the fourth consecutive term and the 21st budget of the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Besides, this is the first budget of the present Finance Minister, Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali, MP.
On Thursday (June 6) at 3 p.m. in the National Parliament, he will raise the proposed budget of 7 lakh, 97 thousand crore rupees for the new financial year. Before that, he left for Parliament from the official residence on Iskaton Garden Road in the capital.

He also said, ‘We have tried as far as possible. I have reduced the total budget because there is no more profit. This budget will aim to restore economic stability, reduce inflation, and control pressure on foreign exchange reserves.
Meanwhile, the biggest budget in the country’s history is going to be announced today. The size of the proposed budget may be 7 lakh, 96 thousand, or 900 crores. This is Rs 36 thousand crore more than the previous financial year (2023–24). The size of the budget for the current financial year was 7 lakh 61 thousand crores.
