Macron said, ‘We have always said that the two-state solution is the only political solution to this problem. I am fully prepared to recognize the state of Palestine. I have been saying this since the beginning. This was reported by the Anadolu Agency, a Turkish-based media outlet.
The French president said that he explained his position to all foreign ministers in the Middle East last Friday. I believe this recognition must come at the right time. I am shocked by what is happening to Rafa now. He believes that an immediate ceasefire in Gaza is necessary.
Note that on Tuesday (May 28), three European countries—Spain, Ireland, and Norway—officially recognized Palestine as an independent state. 27-nation EU members—Sweden, Cyprus, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Romania, and Bulgaria—have already recognized Palestine.
