According to Reuters report, there was a strong earthquake in Turkey on Wednesday. The magnitude of the earthquake was 6 on the Richter scale. According to the European-Mediterranean Seymological Center (EMSC), the magnitude 6 earthquake hit the western part of Turkey on Wednesday. The EMSC also said the epicenter was 2 kilometers (1.24 miles) below the surface.
On the other hand, an earthquake was felt in the North American country of Mexico on Tuesday. Its magnitude was 6.2 on the Richter scale. According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), this 6.2-magnitude earthquake hit the Baja California coast of Mexico on Tuesday local time.
The USGS also said the quake struck at a depth of 19 kilometers (12 miles) about 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) west-southwest of Las Brisas, Baja California.
In addition, a moderate earthquake occurred in the western Indian state of Maharashtra in the Asian continent on Wednesday morning. The magnitude of the earthquake was 3.6 on the Richter scale. India’s National Center for Seismology (NCS) said an earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale was felt near Nashik in Maharashtra early on Wednesday.
According to data provided by NCS, movement of tectonic plates under the surface was felt around 4 am 89 km west of Nashik. The depth of the earthquake was 5 km below the ground.
