Hamas accepted the Qatar-Egypt proposal

International Desk: It is said that Hamas has accepted the proposal made by Egypt and Qatar, the mediator countries, in trying to stop the war in Gaza. Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh told Qatar’s prime minister and Egypt’s intelligence chief to accept their offer, the Palestinian independence movement said in a statement. Al-Jazeera news.

However, there were no immediate details on what the proposal contained. Egypt, Qatar, and the United States are leading and mediating efforts to broker a cease-fire agreement between Israel and Hamas, which are fighting in Gaza. CIA Director William Barnes has visited Cairo.

A US official also said that some progress has been made in the talks. Then came the news of Hamas accepting a ceasefire proposal.

Al-Jazeera reported that the Egypt-Qatar proposal agreed to by Hamas calls for three phases. The time taken for each step is 42 days.

The first step would be a cease-fire and Israel withdrawing troops from the Netzarim Corridor that divides northern and southern Gaza.

The second step would be a permanent cessation of military operations and the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza. And in the third phase, there will be provisions to approve the lifting of the blockade in Gaza.

On October 7 last year, Hamas fighters killed nearly 1,200 people in an unprecedented attack on Israel. Immediately after announcing the elimination of Hamas, Israel launched a counterattack on Gaza.
