The Tiger leader said that the award will take him and the team further. The Bangladesh captain also talked about how he spends time in his bad moments.
Meanwhile, footballer Rakib Hossain also received the same award. They were awarded in the runners-up category. And in athletics, Imranur Rahman got the champion award. He was declared Sports Person of the Year. Sheikh Morsalin became the popular choice.
Nazmul Hossain Shanta thanked the organizers after receiving the award for the best of 2023 in the grand ceremony. At that time, he said about himself, “As a player, bad times come in the life of every person. But I never panicked that I wasn’t doing well. The plan I have, how honest I am about my work, how much I do the work with integrity, and how much I believe in myself—always take care of these things. During the bad times in the past, I thought only that I was doing my job properly.
I believe in myself that I belong in this place. From that belief, I have come as far as I can today. But I still think there is a long way to go. So I will ask for prayers from everyone. Everyone should pray, especially for the Bangladesh team, so that we can do well.
