Apart from this, bribery is also done in the name of transferring teachers or giving different allowances. Komalmati embezzled lakhs of rupees from the students in various examination fees of the education department. Under the influence of this, Suchtur Abul Hashem appointed his own cousin Shefaytun Nahar as a lecturer in Khari Chasik School and College, his paternal father, deceased Zobair Ahmad Village, Miajir Para Dak, Bara Maheshkhali Thana, Maheshkhali District, Cox’s Bazar, and in various madrasahs run by Chasik in exchange for money. The mayor’s private secretary, Abul Hashem, who was not a member of the committee but with the connivance of a development officer, stole millions of rupees in the name of regularizing employees through an illegal process.
