Chandnaish Correspondent: During a robbery in a house in Jamizuri village, Ward No. 8 of Dohazari Municipality, Chandnaish Upazila of Chittagong, a mob caught a notorious thief and handed him over to the police.
The incident took place late on Saturday (April 20) when Jamijuri Surya Mahajan’s house was stolen from Ajit Mahajan’s house. Sensing the presence of the thief from the 2nd floor of the house where he had gone to steal, the crowd called the people of the house on mobile phones and arrested the notorious thief Nurul Huda (40).
After he was caught running and taken to the street, the angry residents caught him and beat him up. The caught thief is Nurul Huda, the younger son of Ishaq Mia Prakash Chulla Khatu, father of Ward No. 6, Jamizuri. The owner of the house, Roops Chakraborty Titu, said that his stealing hand has been long since his teenage years. Starting with the theft of mobiles, expensive clothes, and tubal heads, they slowly turned their hands into big thefts.
He did not commit any such act of theft. He has now turned into a professional thief. As several temples and houses were stolen in the village, they used to use different tactics to catch thieves regularly, he said. On March 29, he stole goods worth more than 2 lakh rupees from his younger uncle’s house.
The mob rescued the thief from the spot and took him to the custody of the Dohazari Police Investigation Center of Chandanish Police Station. In this regard, Police Inspector (Investigation) Yujutsu Yash Chakma of Chandanish Police Station said that he was arrested and sent to court for the crime of stealing.
