The price of gold decreased by only 840 takas

Economy Desk: Two days after the record price was set, the price of gold has been slightly reduced in the country’s market. The price of the best-quality, 22-carat (11.664-gram) gold has been reduced by Tk 840. The price of one load of good-quality gold has been set at 1 lakh 18 thousand 798 taka.

The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) said that this price will be implemented from 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 20.

According to the new price, the price of the best quality, or 22-carat gold, has been reduced by 840 taka to 1 lakh 18 thousand 798 taka. The price of 21-carat gold has been reduced by Tk 805 to Tk 1 lakh 13 thousand 397.

Besides, the price of 18-carat gold has been reduced by 688 taka to 97 thousand taka. And the traditional gold price has been reduced by 560 taka to 78 thousand 242 taka.

Also, the minimum wage per shift is 3 thousand 499 taka. As a result, buyers will have to pay 1 lakh, 28 thousand, and 237 taka to buy a piece of 22-carat gold jewelry starting Sunday.

Earlier on April 18, the price of one bar of good-quality gold was fixed at Tk 1 lakh 19 thousand 638 from that day. It broke all previous records and created a new record for the highest price of gold. After two days of setting this record price, it has now been slightly reduced. The price of a 21-carat gold bar has been increased by Tk 1,994 to Tk 1,14,202.

In addition, the price of 18-carat gold increased by 1 thousand 656 taka to 97 thousand 884 taka. However, the price of one load of traditional gold was reduced from 1 thousand 388 taka to 78 thousand 802 taka. Gold was sold at this price until 3:30 pm today.

However, although the price of gold has increased, the price of silver has remained unchanged. The price of 22 carat silver is 2 thousand 100 taka, 21 carat is 2 thousand 6 taka, 18 carat is 1 thousand 715 taka, and the traditional method is 1 thousand 283 taka.
