International Desk: Fears that a major war in the Middle East could spread are increasing calls for Israel to exercise restraint after being hit by Iran’s retaliatory attacks. Meanwhile, the United States has directly stated that it will not take part in “retaliatory measures” against Iran. Israeli Minister Benny Gantz said his country would “extort the right price” from Iran at the right time.

Last Saturday night, Iran launched more than three hundred drones and missiles at Israel. On the first day of this month, Tehran carried out the attack on Israel as a retaliatory measure after a drone attack on the Iranian consulate in Syria killed two of Iran’s top generals and several military officers. However, Israel has not claimed responsibility for the attack on the Iranian consulate in Syria. However, they are widely believed to have carried out the attack.

99 percent of the drones and missiles fired by Iran on Saturday night were destroyed before reaching Israeli territory. However, a little girl was seriously injured in the attack, and there was global concern over the further escalation of tensions between the two arch-enemies. Allies, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Jordan, have assisted Israel in its defense.

In the immediate aftermath of the attack, the US said it would “remain firmly committed” to its ally Israel. However, it also said it would not participate in any Israeli response to the Iranian attack and that it would “not support” any retaliatory strikes.

Israel has successfully defended itself, and this is a victory against Iran, a top administration official said. He said his country should now take the next steps “very carefully.” “The only big question is not when the retaliation will happen,” he said. Rather, what matters is the course of action Israel chooses. It is their decision now.”
