New Zealand washed up in Cary-Marsh

Sports Desk: After losing the first test by a big margin, New Zealand put up a fight in the second test. But Alex Carey and Mitchell Marsh’s bats eventually fizzled. Azira won the series by 2-0 by 3 wickets in the second test on Monday morning. Carey remained unbeaten on 98 runs. Marsh was out for 80 runs. Captain Pat Cummins remained unbeaten on 32 runs with Carey.

Australia lost 5 wickets to score 80 runs in the target of 279 runs thrown by New Zealand. New Zealand started to dream about it. But on the sixth wicket, Marsh and Carey put on a 140-run partnership to crush Qews’ dreams.

Ben Sears broke the pair by returning Marsh for 220 runs. Marsh scored 80 runs with 10 fours and one six. Carey, however, could not be dismissed. He played an inning of 98 runs with 15 fours and left the field, winning the team. With him, Cummins remained unbeaten at 32 with four fours. They put on a 61-run stand for the seventh wicket to help the team win.

Sears took four wickets with the ball. Matt Henry took two wickets. Tim Southee took one wicket.

Australia’s Carey was the man of the match with an unbeaten 98 runs and 10 catches. And all in all, Henry of New Zealand became the best in the series by collecting 101 runs and 17 wickets.
