But the claim of one of the top officials of the Biden administration was directly rejected by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia on Wednesday.
The ministry said in a statement that Palestine must be recognized as an independent state and the Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip must be stopped. The establishment of diplomatic relations with Tel Aviv will be considered only after this condition is met.
According to the Reuters report, the United States has been trying to establish diplomatic relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia for a long time. Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates established diplomatic relations with Israel during Donald Trump’s presidency. But Saudi Arabia did not join the agreement, even at the request of the US administration.
According to political analysts, the current target of the US and Israel is Saudi Arabia. Because if the country establishes diplomatic relations with Israel, many Muslim countries will follow the same path. So Saudi Arabia is very cautious.
