International Desk: Pakistan is involved in a diplomatic conflict with Iran due to air strikes on its territory. Islamabad first expelled the Iranian ambassador and later removed its own ambassador from Tehran. As a result, the diplomatic conflict between the two countries has taken a dangerous turn. News from Dawn and Geo News.

Pakistan has decided to withdraw its ambassador from Iran, the Foreign Office of Pakistan said on Wednesday. Islamabad also decided to suspend all ongoing or planned high-level visits between the two countries due to Tehran’s “airspace violation.”.

In a press briefing in Islamabad, Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said, “Pakistan has decided to withdraw its ambassador from Iran, and the Iranian ambassador to Pakistan who is currently visiting Iran will not return for the time being.”

In Wednesday’s press briefing, Baloch said, “There was an unwarranted and flagrant violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty, international law, and the purpose and principles of the UN Charter by Iran last night.” This illegal act is completely unacceptable and has no justification.

He also said that Pakistan has the right to respond to this illegal act and will bear the responsibility of its consequences for Iran. Islamabad conveyed this message to the Iranian government. We have informed them that Pakistan has decided to withdraw its ambassador from Iran, and the Iranian ambassador to Pakistan, who is currently visiting Iran, may not return.

The move came after Pakistan condemned the attack on Pakistani territory in a statement issued late on Tuesday. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that two children were killed and three girls were injured in the attack. It termed the incident a violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty.

Iranian state media reported Tuesday night’s attack in the border town of Panjgur in Balochistan. The attack was mainly aimed at the hideout of the militant group Jaish al-Adl, which was founded in 2012.

Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency said, “The focus of this operation was the area known as Koh-Sabz (Green Mountain) in Balochistan.” Two major bases of the Jaish al-Dhulam (Jaish al-Adl) terror group in Pakistan were specifically targeted and successfully destroyed by a combination of missiles and drones.’

Local authorities said they also received reports of such attacks but did not provide details. According to reports from the area, the missile hit a mosque. The mosque was partially damaged, and some people were injured.

According to AFP, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haque Kakar met Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdullahian on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, a few hours before the attack.

Iran had no immediate official comment, but its state-run Noor news agency said the attack destroyed the Pakistan headquarters of Jaish al-Adl.
