International Desk: New Delhi has deployed 3 warships in the Arabian Sea in connection with the attack on 2 commercial ships off the Indian coast. This information has been confirmed in a statement issued by the Indian Navy on Monday, December 25.

Last Saturday, an attack was carried out on a commercial ship named MV Chim Pluto carrying the flag of Liberia. The attack is believed to have been carried out by Iran-backed Houthi rebels. Earlier, Houthi rebels attacked several ships in the Red Sea. Three warships have already been deployed in the Arabian Sea to deal with possible attacks. News from NDTV.

Meanwhile, on Sunday (December 24), the Pentagon said that Iran attacked the MV Chim Pluto ship. However, an Indian Navy spokesperson said that various investigative agencies have already launched an investigation after the attack on the commercial ship.

The spokesperson added that permission has been given to the in-charge of the ship in Mumbai to inspect it. Further investigation will also be conducted when the goods are discharged from the vessel to another vessel.

MV Chim Pluto departed Saudi Arabia’s Al Jubail port carrying crude oil. The ship later came under drone attack in the Arabian Sea. However, there were no casualties in this attack. The commercial vessel had a crew of 35, all Indians.
