In a post from the official verified Facebook page of the Russian Embassy in Bangladesh with a photo of Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova, he said, “The United States and its allies are influencing the internal political process of Bangladesh under the guise of wanting to make elections transparent and inclusive.”
He also said, “At the end of October, US Ambassador to Bangladesh Peter Haas met with a member of the opposition to plan an anti-government rally.” Such actions are gross interference in internal affairs.’
At that time, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia said, “Russia has repeatedly exposed this effort of the United States and its allies.”
