Ashraful Alam, an auto driver of Ekta Para near Dharla Bridge in the city, is attracting the attention of people including pedestrians by painting his auto rickshaw in the color of the Argentine flag. Pedestrians can understand the support from the color of his rickshaw while moving on city streets.
It is known that Ashraful Alam is married in personal life. He has a three-year-old son. He earns his living by driving battery-powered auto-rickshaws. He has painted his livelihood vehicle in the colors of the Argentine flag to show support and good wishes to his favorite team.
During the conversation on Sunday (November 13), Ashraful Alam said that he watched the World Cup on TV since childhood. His favorite team is Argentina. Because of this love, he painted the autorickshaw in the color of the Argentine flag. Ashraful believes that Argentina will bring home the football world cup this time.
He said, I like the game of this team very much. Especially Messi’s game now. Earlier in 2010 I decorated one of my bicycles in the colors of the Argentine flag. Now I have decorated this auto-rickshaw, my livelihood vehicle, in the color of my favorite team’s flag.
Although he decorated his autorickshaw in the colors of the Argentine flag, this autorickshaw driver did not forget the flag of his country. He also placed the symbol of the national flag of Bangladesh on the autorickshaw.
When asked about the feelings of the colored autorickshaw passengers, he said, I painted the autorickshaw on Friday (November 11). Most of the passengers said it was good. But it might not go down well with the opposing team’s supporters.
Before the World Cup, Ashraful said that he would buy the jersey of the Argentina team and transport the passengers in an autorickshaw. He said, about five thousand rupees were spent to paint the autorickshaw. Collect money in two days and buy jerseys.
Yunus Ali, acting former general secretary of Kurigram District Sports Association, said that the audience is always interested in good teams based on football. Because of this support, the auto driver painted his own rickshaw in the color of the flag. Many have already hung the flag of their preferred party.
