Yoav Galant said the death of Israeli Defense Force (IDF) fighters in the war against Hamas in Gaza was a “severe and painful blow” for Israel. “Unfortunately, we are paying a heavy price for the significant progress in the fight deep into the Gaza Strip.”
After the war with Hamas started on October 7, the Israeli military published the statistics of casualties on its website.
