International Desk: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has canceled a previously scheduled meeting with US President Joe Biden to protest Israel’s deadly airstrike on a hospital in the Gaza Strip.
Qatar-based media Al-Jazeera reported that the meeting between Biden and Abbas was supposed to take place in Jordan on Wednesday. But the Palestinian president canceled the meeting after Israeli forces bombed Al-Ahli hospital.
Meanwhile, two Palestinian officials told Reuters on the condition of anonymity, “The president (Abbas) is very angry after the Israeli massacre at the hospital in Gaza, and he (from Jordan) has decided to return to Ramallah immediately.”
King Abdullah II of Jordan and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt were also scheduled to attend the meeting with Biden on Wednesday. In the meeting, they discussed the war between Hamas and Israel.
