Dhaka Bureau: Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is coming to Dhaka on November 24. This information was informed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday (November 12). This is the first visit of a Russian foreign minister to Bangladesh.
It is said that the Russian Foreign Minister is coming to Dhaka to attend the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) conference.
Earlier on Monday (November 7), an official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that IORA member states and dialogue partners have been invited to Dhaka. Many have decided to attend the conference after being invited. Russian Foreign Minister will come. He will attend the conference. All the others who have been invited will be informed about the decision in a day or two.
Bangladesh is the current president of IORA. A meeting of the Committee of Senior Officers CSO will be held in Dhaka on November 22 and 23. Besides, on November 24, the ministerial meeting of the states will be held. IORA’s dialogue partners will attend the meeting on that day.
Foreign Ministry sources said that the Russian Foreign Minister is scheduled to come to Dhaka on November 24 as a dialogue partner. He will leave Dhaka the next day.
