Dhaka Bureau: A loud explosion was heard in the Turkish capital today (Sunday). The explosion occurred very close to the Parliament building in the center of the Turkish capital, Ankara. Initially, it was also known that two police officers were seriously injured. However, no casualties have been reported yet.
On Sunday (October 1), Turkey’s interior minister said two terrorists attacked in front of the General Directorate of Security in Ankara. One of them blew himself up with explosives.
The session was supposed to be held in the parliament building this morning. Before that, the parliament square was shaken by a loud explosion.
Video from the scene, carried by Turkish media, showed the sound of gunfire coming from the parliament grounds. Later, the country’s interior minister told the media that two suicide bombers tried to carry out a terrorist attack inside the parliament. But that attempt has been blocked. Police neutralized a bomber before he could enter the parliament building. Another militant, however, evaded police firing and detonated an explosion outside the Parliament building.
