International Desk: This time, Myanmar was shaken by an earthquake of 4.8 magnitude. The earthquake was felt in and around Yangon, the country’s main commercial center and former capital. The news agency AFP said this in this report. According to FFP, citing the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake was felt at 8:55 p.m. local time on Saturday.
The report also said that the epicenter of the earthquake was 39 km north of Yangon and 10 km below the surface. No loss of life or damage has been reported in this incident so far. About 8 million people live in Myanmar’s largest city, Yangon. Several lakhs of people live in other cities around it.
Earthquakes are an almost regular natural disaster in Myanmar, a country bordering Bangladesh, due to geological formations. The area of the country is 6 lakh 76 thousand 570 square kilometers.
