Bangladesh-New Zealand first match closed due to rain

Sports Desk: Bangladesh and New Zealand faced each other in the first ODI of the series in Mirpur. Even before the start of the match, there was the issue of sun and rain. Still, the toss is on time, and the game begins. But the match could not be played for long.

In 4.3 overs, New Zealand picked up 9 runs without a wicket after the rain started. Liton Das, acting captain of the Bangladesh team, won the toss and invited New Zealand to bat first at Mirpur Sher Bengal.

Two pacers, Mostafizur Rahman and Tanjim Hasan Shakib, kept the Kiwis under pressure from the start. Mustafiz conceded just 2 runs in 2.3 overs with a maiden. Tanjim Shakib cost six in two overs. New Zealand’s openers, Will Young 3 and Finn Allen, are unbeaten by five runs.
