The Prime Minister arrived in New York

The Crime Desk: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has reached New York after a stopover in London. He landed at the country’s JF Kennedy Airport at 10:40 p.m. local time on Monday, September 18. The Prime Minister’s press wing confirmed the matter. Earlier, a Biman Bangladesh Airlines VVIP flight carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage arrived in London at 9:50 p.m. on Sunday (September 17) Bangladesh time.

The flight left the capital’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport after 10 a.m. At the airport, the members of the cabinet, the chiefs of the three forces, the secretaries, and senior officials bid farewell to the prime minister. Apart from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, world leaders will gather in New York to attend the 78th UNGA session. The theme of this year’s international conference is ‘Rebuilding Trust and Restoring Global Solidarity: Accelerating Action to Implement the 2030 Agenda, Towards Peace, Prosperity, Progress, and Sustainability for All’ in the Sustainable Development Goals.

While staying in New York till September 22 on this visit, the Prime Minister will attend the first day’s high-level debate of the 78th General Assembly session at the General Assembly Hall of the United Nations Headquarters on September 19. He will speak on September 22 between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. local time. Foreign Minister Dr. in a press conference last Thursday. AK Abdul Momen said that in the general debate, the Prime Minister will highlight Bangladesh’s incredible development progress, inclusive economic progress, and success in the health sector, as well as world peace, security, safe migration, the Rohingya crisis, climate, and justice.

In addition to attending the UN General Assembly session, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will attend several high-level bilateral and courtesy meetings on the Rohingya crisis, climate change, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and universal health and finance during the visit. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister will deliver a keynote address at a high-level conference on ‘Thinking for Food: Collaborating to Accelerate SDGs to Innovate Food Supply Chains’ organized by UNIDO and Deloitte at Rockefeller Center in New York on Monday. The Prime Minister is expected to return home on October 4.
