Inauguration of three mega railway projects in October

Dhaka Bureau: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the country’s three mega rail projects from Dhaka over Padma Bridge, Dohazari-Cox’s Bazar, and Khulna to Mongla on October 10, Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujan said.

The Railway Minister said that the Prime Minister has agreed to inaugurate these three railway megaprojects in the month of October. The railway minister said that he has given the time of October 10 (tentative). On this day, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Dohazari-Cox’s Bazar and Khulna-Mongla railways from Dhaka to Padma Bridge.

Apart from this, the Akhaura-Laksam inter-country rail route is also scheduled to be inaugurated. However, the Prime Minister of the two countries (India and Bangladesh) will inaugurate this railway, so the inauguration of this railway will be subject to the Prime Minister’s time in India.

The railway minister said that when the train movement starts on the Mongla-Khulna railway, new horizons will be opened in the trade and commerce of the southwestern region, including the Mongla port. Because, not only with the entire country, they have plans to develop the railway as an international rail route. Through this, the trade at the port will be accelerated.

Again, when the Dohazari-Cox’s Bazar railway line is opened, it will bring good news for travel enthusiasts. If this railway route is opened, it will be convenient for those who are thirsty to go directly from Dhaka to Samudrasaikat Cox’s Bazar. Business will increase.

The railway minister also said that if the train runs from Dhaka to Banga over the Padma Bridge, the people of the southern region will greatly benefit, and traffic and trade will increase. Meanwhile, the project director, Md, said that trains will start running on the Khulna-Mongla railway next October. Arifuzzaman.

He said that 98 percent of Khulna-Mongla railway work has been completed. We are planning to complete the entire work in the month of September. Also, it is expected that train movement will start through this route in the last week of October. That’s how we are moving forward.
