International Desk: The United States is giving Ukraine another $400 million worth of air defense systems and surface-to-air missiles as part of a new security assistance package. The Pentagon made the announcement on Thursday (November 10).
Pentagon Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh said, “Russia is conducting a ruthless and brutal attack on civilians and critical infrastructure in Ukraine.” It is important for Kiev to provide more air defenses to prevent this attack.
The package announced by the US includes four short-range, ultra-fast Avenger air defense systems. In addition there are HAWK missiles, which Spain has agreed to supply. Under the package, artillery, mortars and a lot of ammunition are being given to Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked US President Joe Biden and the American people for their support.
