Rahul Gandhi regained the post of Member of Parliament

International Desk: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has regained the post of Member of Parliament. The Supreme Court suspended his sentence on Friday. As a result, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla returned his MP post to Rahul. On Monday (August 7) morning, the Speaker’s Secretariat issued an order in this regard.

Meanwhile, he will be able to join the program that the opposition is going to bring the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Parliament on Tuesday. A court in Surat found Rahul Gandhi, Member of Parliament from Kerala’s Waynar, guilty in the Modi defamation case.

He was also sentenced to two years in prison by the Surat court judge. who at one time was the lawyer of the country’s Home Minister Amit Shah. Because of that punishment Rahul’s MP post was rejected. Even, there is uncertainty about Rahul’s standing in the next Lok Sabha elections. But on Friday, the Supreme Court suspended the sentence given by the Surat court.

Even the top court of the country expressed doubts about the punishment and trial process given to Rahul. After the decision of the Supreme Court, the way for Rahul to regain the post of MP became smooth. On Friday, the Congress tabled a petition in the Lok Sabha to reinstate Rahul as an MP.
