International Desk: Israeli forces are attacking the Jenin refugee camp in the West Bank of Palestine. At least eight people have been killed so far in Jenin in the biggest attack in 20 years. It is feared that this number will increase as some people have been admitted to the hospital due to gunshot wounds. News from Al Jazeera, The Guardian.

According to Al Jazeera’s report, the Israeli forces carried out at least 10 airstrikes on the camp in Jenin, where there are about 14,000 refugees, on Sunday night. About 10,000 Israeli soldiers surrounded the camp in at least 150 armored vehicles. Among them were members of the Israeli army, police and intelligence agencies.

Israel claimed the attack as a “massive anti-terror operation”. However, Palestinians claim that Israel is committing atrocities there. On Monday, the Israelis sent 1,000 to 2,000 troops to attack Jenin. Armored bulldozers and snipers were sent along to assist them. At the same time, they used drones and warplanes. The Israeli army has been conducting frequent attacks on the Jenin refugee camp for the past few months.

They claim that Palestinians are carrying out armed activities here. Earlier, during the Second Intifada in 2002, Israel last attacked Jenin using combined military and air power. At that time, 52 Palestinians and 23 Israeli soldiers were killed.
