International Desk: The Gandhi family hit the Delhi High Court in the income tax case. A bench of Justices Dinesh Kumar Sharma and Manmohan on Friday dismissed the pleas filed by Sonia Gandhi, Rahul, and Priyanka challenging the transfer of income tax reassessment to the ‘Central Circle’.
The Delhi High Court has upheld the Income Tax Department’s order in this regard. A two-judge bench comprising three members of the Gandhi family on Friday dismissed the income tax revaluation petition of Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (UP) and non-profit organizations like Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Trust, Jawahar Bhavan Trust, Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust, and Young Indian.
In each case, the income tax files of the applicant companies were handed over to the Central Circle instead of using the faceless assessment method.
The Delhi High Court said that considering the benefits of coordination in accordance with the law, the Income Tax Department has decided to transfer the cases; there is no need to cancel them.
